Top 10 products for starting with makeup

Heyy! Its phoebs :)
Today I am gonna show you 10  products , all of them are under a tenner, that I think would be great for starting your makeup collection! I love watching these type of videos on youtube and with me having little money, it means I have tried the best and worst of the drugstore. I hope you enjoy!
Concealer - Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer.
I use this every day and it is amazing! It gives good coverage and it is great for under eye circles and spots.
( there was writing on the tube but it has rubbed off )

Powder - Rimmel Stay Matte Powder
This powder makes sure your makeup stays put! It also doesnt look cakey. I have the transparent powder but that is not for really pale skin, it is to blend in with whatever skintone you have, to give a natural effect.

Blush - Topshop Cream Blush
These blushes are beautiful . They are easy to apply and buildable - personally I like to keep it looking as natural as possible.
Mine is in 'Flush'

Eyeliner- Topshop Kohl Pencils
This eyeliner is amazing. Depending on how you use it you can get a thick line or a thin one.
Cute right?

Eyelash Curler - Primark Eyelash Curler
This cost me £1 and I am SO glad I bought it! I have had it over a year and I get great results.

Mascara - Maybelline Rocket Volume express
This mascara is a cheaper alternative to the benefit they're real mascara. I have done a comparison here : http://geekchicnotes.blogspot.co.uk/2013/10/benefit-real-mascara-vs-maybelline.html

Eyeshadow - Sleek I-Divine Oh So Special Pallete
For £7.99 you get 12 gorgeous shades which you can create so many looks from. This is not the only sleek eyeshadow pallete, go to superdrug to see them all. You will DEFFO like at least one.

Cream Eyeshadow - Maybelline Colour Tatoo's
I litterally LOVE these. They are easy to apply, great for day to night, stay on for ages amd come in such a huge range!
Thats shade 65- pink gold

Tinted Lip Balm - Maybelline Baby Lips
As an actuall lipbalm , these are not so good, but for colour , I am in love! They need to release more colours in the uk. But for £2.99 , WOWEEEE

Lipstick - Rimmel Kate Moss Lipsticks
These lippies are so matte, meaning long lasting. There are so many colours as well . Buy one, you wont regret it
I have shade 16

I hope you enjoyed this post and now you want to build up your makeup collection!

Benefit 'They're Real' Mascara vs Maybelline Rocket Volume Express Mascara

Hello Beauties!
I will be comparing two very talked about mascaras ; Benefit 'They're Real' and Maybelline Rocket volume express. I will do a comparison then a summary

Benefit
Packaging : 4/5 -
Wand : 5/5
Clump free : 4.5/5
( i didnt apply this to my bottom lashes)

Easy to apply : 3.5/5
Volume : 4/
Length : 4/5

TOTAL : 25/30

Maybelline

Packaging : 3.5/5
Wand : 4/5
Clump free : 3/
5
Easy to apply: 2.5/5
Volume : 3/5
Length : 5/5

TOTAL: 21/30

So, on points benefit wins it for me! The only downside is benefit has a hefty price tag.
Really it depends what your budget is. By no means is the maybelline mascara bad , I think it looks too like mascara. As in with the benefit one it looks like your natural lashes are CRAZY long. Benefit os an all rounder as maybelline says its meant for volume, but I think it gives length. If you didnt know how to apply either mascara, it would look clumpy. It just takes a bit of practice with both to get the look you want :)

Hope you enjoyed this post , tell me what your fave mascara is , or which one from the above you prefer in the comments below!

P.s if I dont post tomorrow, it will be coz of a power cut. In the south of england ( where I live) tonight there is expected to be a MASSIVE storm so the power might be out. :(

Halloween makeup tutorial : Creepy Doll

THello Beauties!
I am really excited about showing you this tutorial, coz I was quite proud of it haha. I did it last night so hopefully I can remember the exact things I did. This tutorial can kinda be changed to whatever creepy thing you are going as for halloween. Here is the finished look :
On with the tutorial!
First off, prime your skin. Then take a shimmerry white eyeshadow and put it all over your face. Then pat some matte white eyeshadow wherever you want. Just keep adding till you get the look you want.
My scary face :S
Then I am using the rimmel stay matte powder over the white.
Now onto the eyes!
Use a pink eyeshadow ( mine is from a 17 makeup kit) from just under the brow to just under the brow bone.
I primed my eyes . Then use a blue from where the pink ended to just below the crease.
Now get a red lipstick and apply this over the lid. wherever there is no eyeshadow, add this! I also used the red as an inner corner highlighter. The lippie is my mums Elizabeth Arden one.
Then we are gonna apply our fave mascara and eyeliner. For eyeliner, do a little flick ( mine are really bad) and add eyeliner to the waterline.
Finally , add a black eyeshadow on the bags under your eyes to make them seem bigger.
Back to the face! Add lots of bright pink blush to your cheeks. Mine is from topshop. Then get a black or brown eyeliner and do dots on the pink - for freckles.
Now for cheekbones! We want to really define them so get a SUPER dark bronzer or a bit of brown eyeshadow ( thats what I did) , make a fish face and apply the colour just below your cheekbones.
If you use brown eyeshadow, blend it in well.
For lips, I used a broght pink. This is a rimmel kate moss lipstick in shade 16.
I then lined my lips with black eyeliner and extended my smilewith the black ( you'll see what I mean in the pic) . Personally I found just the black eyeliner a bit harsh so I added black eyeshadow over the top.
I pressed my lips together to get the smokey effect on my lips.
I got my red lipstick and made it look like blood dripping from my lips.

Finally, scars. I put red lipstick on two random parts of my face, then got a brown eyeliner ( you could use black) and drew lines on the 'scars'
The whole look!

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and get inspiration for your halloween makeup. I have gotta  say, I REALLY enjoyed doing this tutorial. Let me know what you think in the comments below!
